The mission of the Friends of St. Andrew Bay is to evaluate the status of the St. Andrew Bay ecosystem, identify problems, and initiate corrective actions where necessary. The goal of Friends of St. Andrew Bay is to maintain and restore a healthy St. Andrew Bay ecosystem for the benefit of all people.

Steering Committee

The Friends of St. Andrew Bay Steering Committee is comprised of dedicated volunteers who guide and implement our mission and work towards our goal. They do these things by implementing the Action Plans contained in our ecosystem management plan, The St. Andrew Bay Ecosystem, Our Environment.  Action Plans are specific, steering committee approved projects or project areas.  Please see the link above for details.

Other activities performed by members of the steering committee include:

• Subcommittee leadership in their areas of interest and involvement of members.

• Determination of quarterly seminars topics, and production of seminars.

• Project proposal review.

• Action Plan authorship and review.

• Project management.

• Community Education and Outreach.

• Recruitment of new members and volunteers.

• Liaisons for major partner groups.

• Monthly meeting attendance.

The Steering Committee of the Friends of St. Andrew Bay
meets the first Tuesday of each month at BEST, Inc.’s offices, located at 801 Jenks Avenue, Suite G, Panama City, Florida, 32401.
